Located in Shasta County with a growing population of approximately 94,000, Redding is one of the largest cities north of Sacramento. Redding is the regional hub for retail, education, professional services, career opportunities, corporate and private business development, medical facilities, and government. 

The city boasts stunning landscapes, 200 miles of hiking and biking trails and has nine national and state park designations within easy driving distance.  The San Francisco Chronicle labeled Redding as the "Gem of the U.S. Trails System."

The city hosts several annual festivals and events, including the Kool April Nites classic car show, the Sundial Film Festival, the Redding Rodeo, the Holiday Light Parade, and the Garden of Lights.

Other outstanding attractions include Lake Shasta Caverns, Shasta Dam, the Carter House Gallery, Old City Hall, and Turtle Bay Park. From June through August, Redding offers free movies in its various local parks; bring a chair or blanket and watch movies with the locals.
